This beautiful postcard has been created using a selection of the participants' images of their local area, the Kathmandu Valley.
Showing typical Nepali scenes and local tourist attractions, including the world heritage sites Boudhanath, Swayambunath and Patan Durbar Square, these are the images chosen collectively by the group to summarise and celebrate their country. This vibrant montage of the women's images is a great way to say a colourful Namaste! from Nepal, whilst empowering the women by offering an income-generating opportunity for the shelter where they live. Where does the money go? 100% of profits from postcard sales go towards the vital work of the Women's Foundation of Nepal and it's shelter, where all the Mother Tongues project participants are currently supported; funds are desperately needed. If you would like to stock these great cards in your shop, cafe, gallery or business and support the work of WFN please don't hesitate to get in touch. |
* A Big thanks to Sam Norgate for his help with designing the postcard, as well as to our printers Himalayan Maphouse and all the individual funders of Mother Tongues whose donations enabled the printing of the cards, and indeed the entire running of the project.
